Dave,
I did have some time this weekend to look at your
impressive website and give you a little feedback.
Overall, I am amazed with the amount of creative and
meaningful content in the site. In addition to what I
thought I would find: the schedule, where you meet,
the club mission statement, you also had monthly
newsletter’s that were professional and showed your
club having a great time while improving important
communication skills. Each page was designed with a
lot of thought in mind. You used font color,
pictures, and other design points to create pleasing
yet professional looking pages. I liked how your new
member link fed into the Toastmaster.org free web link
seamlessly.
The pages all loaded quickly and from a technical
standpoint everything was working flawlessly. The
only two critiques I could could come up with was the
1) every time I backed up using my browser, I had to
re-enter my name to get back to the home page. That
adds to the clicks needed to get through all of your
great content. And 2) I wasn’t sure what that Blog
area was doing. I couldn’t make sense of it. That
was the only two points, however. Again, those
newsletter’s – Very impressive. You must have
multiple members of your club maintaining that site.
It must be a real team effort and it pays off. If I
were a new member again and saw that site, I would be
very interested in joining such a group of creative
people. My club doesn’t have a website and I didn’t
think that was a big deal, but after seeing what a
superior one can really do, I am interested in
re-engaging my club in the possibility.
I’ll spread the word at my club you idea to exchange
speakers and will be in touch.
Regards,
Matt Binderup
